The pencil eyeliner is the most traditional and has been considered to be the easiest to apply.   The pencil will give you a more defined or smudged line.  The pencil eyeliner comes in waterproof forms for people who are in the water a lot.

Use little strokes instead of one long line.  This will create a more natural look on you.  To smooth out the line a little more, trace over the line with an angle brush.  For a more dramatic look, when applying the pencil eyeliner to the lower lid, use a soft pencil that will be easy to apply.  Smooth out the edges with a smudge brush.

Liquid Liner – Is this the Perfect Eyeliner for you?

The liquid eyeliner is the most difficult to apply.  However, it will give you a more precise and intense line.  This is not for the person going for the softer, more natural look.  Liquid eyeliner brings more attention to your eyes.

The liquid liner is for the brave and confident person.  It comes in two different types of application tips:  felt and brush.  If you choose the felt-tip, you may have more stability.  The brush tip is for the person who has a very steady and skilled hand.

Tip:  To draw an almost perfect line, start at the center of the top eyelid.  Drag the tip to the outside corner of your eye.  Now, start at the inner corner of your eye and drag the brush to the center.  This will connect the lines.

Eye Shadow Liner – Is this the Perfect Eyeliner for you?

The eye shadow liner is for the person who wants to achieve that natural look.  For a sophisticated and smooth look, dip an angle brush into the eye shadow.  Lightly tap the brush to remove excess eye shadow.   Use small light strokes.  For a more intense line, the brush tip should be wet before dipping into the shadow.

Cake Eyeliner – Is this the Perfect Eyeliner for you?

This eyeliner is becoming more popular.  It comes in many different colors and is for the person who wants a more dramatic look.  It is easier to use than liquid because its thickness makes the eyeliner easier to control.

The majority of cake eyeliners come in water-resistant form.  They will come in a small glass container.  Try using an angle brush and use small strokes on the top eyelids.
