Organic Skincare 101: Where do I Start?
Perfect Skin - Organics

Organic skincare or natural skincare is becoming more popular.  People are finally discovering the importance of taking care of themselves, and organic skincare is becoming a part of their every day routine.

Organic Skincare – Why is it Important?

The world around you is full of chemicals and pollution that is constantly being exposed to your skin.   Chemicals are everywhere, from the cleaners in your home, your furniture, and the pollution from your car.   Many store brand soaps, shampoos, cosmetics, and the skin care products that you use everyday contain chemicals that are being absorbed and inhaled into your body.

While only one of these products is not enough to harm you, the accumulative affect of all the products around you can.  This is why it is so imperative to reduce the amount of chemicals your body absorbs.  It is important to take care of your body from the inside out.  Attractive, healthy skin starts from the inside and reflects on the outside.

The most visible organ you have is your skin.  Taking care of it is essential if you want your skin to not only appear healthy, but truly be healthy.  It is sometimes difficult to know where to begin with all the different information that is available.  Starting to eat organic is your first step towards healthy skin.    Once you integrate an organic diet into your life, you can then begin an organic skincare routine.

Organic Skincare – Learn what the Ingredients Are

Organic skincare is the best type of skincare.   For one reason, they are more effective than artificial cosmetic products, and they are safer to use on any skin type.  Organic skincare products have extremely powerful ingredients that truly have an amazing effect on the skin.  Some of these ingredients include, but are not limited to:

  • Phytessence Wakame – This ingredient is sea algae and is derived from the Sea of Japan.  It is said to be the next “wonder of anti-aging.”  This ingredient has been known to have immune-stimulating, cancer preventing, anti-inflammatory, and anti-allergic properties.
  • Functional Keratin – This is possibly the most effective anti-aging natural ingredient.  Keratin is found in the body, and its main function is to promote skin strength and elasticity.
  • Manuka Honey – The ability for honey to absorb and retain moisture makes this an ingredient perfect for skincare and cosmetics.  It helps to keep skin hydrated and fresh.
  • Cynergy TK – This is a special natural extract that produces more Collagen and Elastin internally to keep your skin naturally firm, elastic, and free from wrinkles.
  • Babassu – This is a light natural wax.  It moisturizes the skin and is beneficial in cases of dry and inflamed skin.  It is great for both dry and oily skin types.
  • Natural Oils – Olive oil, macadamia, avocado, grape seed oils and many more have many positive benefits for your skin.

Not only are these ingredients natural for organic skincare, but they are extremely effective.  Organic skincare products can be used with no risks.

Organic Skincare – Knowledge is Power

Basically, it is all about research.  Do your research on the ingredients that are found on the labels.  Knowledge is power.   Read the labels.  The ingredients mentioned above are just a few organic skincare ingredients found in organic skincare.

Unfortunately, as more people are turning to organic skincare, there are more people out there trying to scam you.  Some will try to disguise chemicals under a natural assumption.  For example, mineral oil is found on many labels as “natural.”

The fact is this is not natural oil.  It is a byproduct of gasoline distillation, and it is a harsh chemical. Make sure you do your research on each ingredient.  Mineral oil has been known to be used as a moisturizing agent.  Unfortunately, it slowly pulls the natural moisture out of the skin, and leaves it drier than before.

Knowledge really is power.  Therefore, to start with an organic skincare regime, you will need to know what type of skin care you have, what your needs are, and then start by researching the ingredients on the label.
