• Round Face – If you have a round face, try a soft, choppy style, such as layers around the cheeks.  Layers that fall around the cheekbones will shade them.  This will help your face “appear” to be narrower.   You can also try adding volume on your crown.  This will create a “domed” look that will add height and elongate the roundness of your face.   For bangs, try an angle cut that falls just around the cheeks.  If you have a round neck, try choppy layers that fall around your neckline.  This will help to hide the plumpness of your neck.  Avoid straight, flat, or sleek styles if you have a round face.
• Oval Face – This is the best shape to have when you are trying to choose a new look.  If you have this shape, you are one of the lucky ones!  You can wear almost any style you choose.  While you can wear almost any hairstyle, be careful with super short styles.  If you have an oval face and would like a super short style, you must take into consideration the shape of your scalp.  If your scalp is not even, a super short cut may not be appealing on you.
• Long Face – Your goal is to make your face appear shorter.  Try wispy, see-through bangs with chin length cuts.  The fullest part of your hair should rest behind your ears and should be soft and low on your crown.  Avoid longer, shapeless styles, as well as straight bobs.  These styles will elongate your face, which is the opposite of what you are trying to achieve.  If you have a pointy chin, avoid hairstyles that curve in towards your chin.  Instead, have your hair sweep up and away from your chin.
• Square Face – Try soft curves that will soften the severity of your square face.  Add slight volume to the point in your crown.  This will help to distract from your square outline.  See-through bangs that are light and wispy will help to soften your face.  Avoid short crops, blunt cuts, and hard, sleek lines.  These will draw more attention to your square face.
• Heart-Shaped Face – A heart-shaped face can have two different aspects.  If your face is narrow at the bottom and wide at the top, try a choppy style that flips out with graduated bangs.  A hairstyle that flips out will equalize the shape by giving you volume around the narrow bottom of your face. You could have an “upside down” heart-shaped face shape, which means your face is narrow at the top and wider at the jaw.  If this is the case, you will want to add fullness at the top of your head instead, to balance out your chin.
