Perfect Skin - Supplements
A healthy skin diet is an essential step to having clear and beautiful skin.  If you want fabulous, lively, and younger looking skin, you need to consider a healthy skin diet.  While there are many things you can do on the surface of your face to help your skin look clear, you must start from the inside in order to have true radiant and healthy skin.  If you deprive your skin of the vitamins and nutrients that are included in a healthy skin diet, you are setting yourself up for some serious problems.

Experts will tell you that a truly balanced diet is a great way to ensure you receive what you need for healthy skin.  However, there are some specific foods you can include in your healthy skin diet that will help to ensure a glowing complexion.

Healthy Skin Diet – Foods to Improve your Skin

  • Low-Fat Dairy Products – Vitamin A is one of the most important nutrients for the skin.  Low-fat dairy products are helpful in getting this vitamin. Low-fat yogurt is high in vitamin A.
  • Blackberries, Blueberries, Strawberries, and Plums – These foods are high in antioxidants, which are important in helping to keep the skin healthy.
  • Salmon, Walnuts, Canola Oil, and Flax Seed – These foods have essential fatty acids.  Fatty acids help to keep cell membranes healthy.  They act as barriers to things that are harmful to the skin and also act as a passageway for the nutrients to cross in and out of your waste products.  The stronger the barrier, the better your cells can hold in moisture, which is essential for younger looking skin.  Essential fatty acids also help to protect the inflammatory process from harming skin cells.
  • Healthy Oils – High quality oils help to keep the skin lubricated, giving it an overall healthier look and feel.  High quality oils include oils that are cold pressed, expeller processed or extra virgin.  Other oils go through five or six processes, which is how important nutrients are lost.  In the recommended high quality oils, the process for preparing only involves pressing, heating, and bottling.  Therefore, nutrients remain intact, allowing your skin to reap the benefits.  While high quality oils are helpful to your skin, it is important to understand that you only need about two tablespoons per day.
  • Whole-Wheat Bread, Muffins, and Cereals, Turkey, Tuna, and Brazil Nuts - Selenium is a mineral that connects all of these foods.  Selenium is important to skin cell health.
  • Green Tea – Green tea is truly amazing for skin health.  It has anti-inflammatory properties that protect the cell membrane.  Green tea has been known to reduce the risk of damage caused by the sun’s rays, which then leads to a lower of risk of skin cancer.
  • Water – Hydrate your skin often.  Hydrated skin must come from pure, clean water.  Hard water is actually better for your skin.  When water goes through a water softener, it de-mineralizes the water.  This reduces the helpful benefits of water.  Water helps the cells to move nutrients in and the toxins out.

Eating healthy overall is the best way to improve your skin; however, including the above foods in your healthy skin diet will improve your skin’s health significantly.
